Quilters Make A Case For Wake Women In Recovery
RALEIGH, N.C. -- Quilters and sewing enthusiasts are donating handmade pillowcases to The Healing Place of Wake County. Raleigh quilting shop, Wish Upon A Quilt, initiated the year-long pillowcase drive in response to the "Make A Million Pillowcases" challenge issued this year by American Patchwork and Quilting. In addition, Wish Upon A Quilt is contributing $1 to The Healing Place for every pillowcase donated--that's $175 so far. Caring gestures do make a difference in our community. The gift of a handmade pillowcase tells a woman recovering from addiction that someone cares about her. The Healing Place will also use the pillowcases in further fundraising efforts.
